We wish to offer our sincere thanks to all of our wonderful partners, clients, and friends for all the great work you’ve allowed us to do together with you in 2013. We hope you had a wonderful winter holiday, and we look forward to an exciting year of helping organizations that provide environmental services become more financially sustainable in 2014!

To express our joy and good cheer for the new year, we would like to share the following words of wisdom about environmental finance from our staff. (OK, in truth, we must now make our apologies to Margaret Mead, Winston Churchill, J.R.R. Tolkien, Dale Carnegie, Stephen Covey, Prince, and whoever wrote that nursery rhyme…) Happy New Year!

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world [of sustainable environmental finance]; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
“Never in the field of [capital planning] was so much owed by so many to so few [key financial indicators].”
“One [Cost Recovery Ratio] to rule them all, one [Cost Recovery Ratio] to find them…”
“How to win [big data] and influence [rate setting].”
“The 7 Habits of Highly Effective [Utilities]: Powerful Lessons in [Energy Management] Change”
“What are little [utilities] made of? [High operating ratios] and [excellent debt service coverage ratios] and everything nice.”
“We’re gonna party like it’s [2014]!”
